After a traumatic event during his residency, young medical student James Heyman (Namir Smallwood) moves to a rural hospital for a fresh start. Observing that James is struggling and struggling to communicate with patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and screen actor Michael Potts) recommends that he take a class focused on bedside manners and fostering deeper relationships with patients. The demons of James’ past begin to haunt him when he is taken over by the case of a young asthmatic (possibly Sidney Flanigan) with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, anxiety-induced speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson assembles a strong ensemble of veteran actors in this follow-up to SAINT FRANCES, the prequel to GHOSTLIGHT – and in this humanistic and unconventional vision of the genre.
